A prenuptial agreement is a legal arrangement that couples get into before getting married. Mostly, it involves what should take place to their finances in case they file for a divorce.
Most successful couples agree on important issues right from the start, and regardless of whether it is a legal prenup or postnup, or a flexible relationship agreement, they make sure to put it down in writing. Traditionally, prenups are seen as a worst-case-scenario financial preparedness. However, this is not the case for relationship agreements as they are not always about money. Some of the most important things that couples agree upon early in their relationships include family boundaries, sexual needs and who gets to pay for what. Putting all this in writing can guarantee a chance of success in marriage. There are some surprising prenups that some American’s richest couples have put in writing, including the Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel’s Prenup.
After Jessica got a ring from her fiancé Timberlake, they have started the process of drafting their prenuptial agreement. This couple started dating back in 2007 and is yet to formalise their relationship. Rumors milling around say that it might be due to the lady’s prenup demands. They have been differing on various things, including property division and parenthood. Jessica feels that she should be royally compensated in case Justin strays while they are married. She has stated that she needs a fidelity clause in the prenup where she will receive at least $500,000 if ever he cheats on her.
Jessica also wants monthly spousal support and states that she will only give Justin a baby if he proves to be faithful for several years, claiming that he might cheat once she gets fat from the pregnancy. This is simply one case of the many surprising prenups that rich American couples have put in place. For example, Beyonce gets $5 million for every child they get with Jay-Z, and she will also get $1million annually for every year they stay married up to 15 years.
